Intermediate Scientific  Study group re-commences Monday 9th Jan 2012 8pm in LIT, Clonmel.  Group will meet every second Monday night thereafter.  All are welcome.

Beginners BeeKeeping Course 2012

We are pleased to announce that South Tipp BKA is running a beekeeping course for beginners.

Avail of this opportunity to learn the basic skills of managing bees for the production of honey

Participants will avail of:

  • Full membership of Beekeepers Association 
  • Insurance
  • 6 theory classes
  • 8 practical outdoor demonstrations
  • Opportunity to purchase bees
  • Advice and mentoring service
Free information night in Raheen House Hotel Clonmel.  All are welcome on the 23rd January at 8pm

Course starts on the 30th January 2012 at 7.30pm
Location: LIT Clonmel

 Course content:

  • Introduction
  • Beekeeping Equipment
  • The Biology of the bee
  • Managing your bees
  • Harvesting the crop
  • Making your own hive

Course dates: 3oth Jan, 13th Feb, 27th Feb, 12th Mar, 29th March, 2nd April

Outdoor Demos Cahir: 17th April , 1st May, 15th May, 29th May, 

Outdoor Demos Clonmel: 24th April, 8th May, 22th May, 19th June (Beginners in trouble), 14th Aug (Varroa Treatment with Apiguard)

 Fee: €100   payment on first night
